Throughout our history, CRC has developed and implemented successful public education campaigns that help to build and sustain household wealth for low-income communities and communities of color.

CRC has an Economic Equity Promotora/Community Economic Health worker model that serves to effectively disseminate information, and acts as the bridge between people and financial service providers, social service agencies and relative nonprofits. Economic Equity Promotoras also act as change agents within their naturally occurring social networks. Using promotoras/ community workers ensures that the design of new services learns from the many social and cultural offerings and particular needs of historically marginalized people (Black, Latino, immigrant low income communities and women in particular) such that the resulting financial services and financial education pedagogy is effective.

CRC has adapted this door-to-door and in person model to a highly responsive virtual (phone and internet) based education program leading to protections for families from scams and predatory products and connecting them to relief resources that can provide alternatives to predatory loans. The rapid response promotoras also increase access to capital for the most marginalized communities in this time of crisis and increased need.
